Operations Improvement Consulting for Established Owner-Led and Family-Owned Businesses

Mallory Morsa and Edwin Angulo, co-founders of Angulo & Morsa Legacy Consulting.

Customers experience your business as one connected journey—from first learning about the company and understanding your offer through inquiry, onboarding, service delivery, follow-up, repeat business, and referral.

Behind that journey are the workflows, responsibilities, communication, technology, employee practices, and management systems that make the experience possible.

As businesses grow, informal ways of working often stop scaling. Missed handoffs, inconsistent follow-up, unclear responsibilities, disconnected tools, and limited management visibility can begin affecting revenue, service quality, employee capacity, customer trust, and the owner’s ability to maintain control.

Angulo & Morsa Legacy Consulting helps established businesses diagnose recurring operating problems, implement practical improvements, and build management routines that help those improvements last.

Based in Menifee, California, we serve businesses throughout Riverside County and selected nearby Inland Empire and North San Diego County communities.

Your Customers Experience One Business

Customers do not experience marketing, sales, scheduling, operations, and service delivery as separate departments.

They experience one business.

Interest → Understanding → Inquiry → Response → Onboarding → Delivery → Follow-Up → Return → Referral

At every stage, the business must communicate clearly and complete the right work internally.

We examine both sides of that system:

  • What prospective and existing customers see, understand, and experience

  • What employees, managers, processes, and technology must do internally to support that experience

Our work may involve customer-facing communication, inquiry handling, follow-up, intake, scheduling, service delivery, internal handoffs, responsibilities, procedures, tools, performance measures, employee training, and management routines.

When Recurring Problems Point to a Larger Operating Issue

Operational problems often develop gradually as the business grows, more employees become involved, customer volume increases, and work moves across multiple people, systems, departments, or locations.

Common signs include:

  • Customers do not clearly understand the offer, process, or next step

  • Inquiries and sales opportunities are not followed up consistently

  • Intake, scheduling, onboarding, or service-delivery handoffs break down

  • Employees perform the same work differently

  • Responsibilities are unclear or important tasks have no clear owner

  • Information is lost between employees or systems

  • Customers must repeat information or request updates

  • Managers cannot confirm whether critical work was completed

  • Software or AI-assisted tools are underused or poorly integrated

  • Follow-up, repeat-business, review, or referral processes are inconsistent

  • Routine coordination and problem-solving depend on the owner

  • Growth is increasing complexity faster than operating capacity

The issue you can see is not always where the problem begins.

A marketing concern may actually be a customer-understanding or lead-response problem. A complaint may result from a weak internal handoff. A staffing concern may be caused by unclear responsibilities or an inefficient workflow. A software concern may actually be a process-design or adoption problem.

We help determine what is happening, why it continues, and what should be addressed first.

Who We Work With

Our direct commercial work is designed for established employer businesses where recurring problems have a meaningful financial, customer, employee, or management impact.

Commercial clients are often:

  • Owner-led or family-owned businesses

  • Companies with recurring customer, scheduling, administrative, service-delivery, or field-work processes

  • Businesses where multiple employees, managers, locations, or systems must coordinate effectively

  • Companies experiencing a repeated problem rather than an isolated incident

  • Businesses where the owner has become too involved in routine coordination

  • Leadership teams prepared to provide access to relevant employees, information, and operating data

  • Businesses willing to invest in implementation when the evidence supports making a change

Company size is only one indicator. The more important question is whether the problem is significant enough to justify structured diagnosis and improvement.

Choose the Right Level of Support

Paid consulting is not always the right starting point.

Our commercial services are designed for established organizations facing a recurring operational problem that requires investigation inside the business and may require changes across people, workflows, responsibilities, or systems.

If you primarily need general business mentoring, startup guidance, business-planning assistance, funding information, or introductory education, one of these free or publicly supported resources may be a better place to begin:

What Stronger Operations Should Produce

A Clearer Customer Journey and Better Revenue Capture

Help customers understand what you offer, know what to do next, and move through the business with less confusion.

Reduce missed inquiries, inconsistent follow-up, abandoned opportunities, billing delays, service failures, and other breakdowns that allow demand or completed work to go unrealized.

More Reliable Service Delivery

Create clearer workflows, responsibilities, handoffs, procedures, and expectations so employees understand what should happen and customers receive a more consistent experience.

Greater Operating Capacity

Reduce unnecessary waiting, duplication, rework, administrative effort, and owner intervention so the business can handle work more effectively.

Stronger Management Control

Establish useful measures, ownership, and review routines so leaders can see whether critical work is being completed, identify emerging problems, and sustain improvement.

Not Sure What Is Causing the Problem?

You do not need to diagnose the issue before contacting us.

Tell us what is happening, how it is affecting the business, and what you have already tried.

We will review the information and determine whether our commercial Operations Diagnostic appears to be an appropriate next step.

How Our Commercial Process Works

Our direct commercial engagements follow three sequential phases:

Diagnose → Improve → Sustain

Each phase builds on the one before it and is approved separately.

Every new direct commercial client begins with an Operations Diagnostic. This allows recommendations to be based on how the business actually operates rather than assumptions, symptoms, or a predetermined solution.

When implementation support is needed, Improvement turns the findings into practical operating changes.

After improvements are implemented, optional Sustainment Support can help stabilize the process, evaluate early performance, and transfer responsibility to the client’s managers and employees.

The process and published pricing below apply to direct commercial engagements. Public-sector and government prime-contractor work is separately scoped, contracted, and priced.

Diagnose

Operations Diagnostic — $3,500

We examine one defined operational problem to understand how work currently happens, identify contributing factors, and determine what should be addressed first.

The Diagnostic may include workflow review, employee and management input, available performance information, procedures, tools, and customer-facing processes.

You receive findings, prioritized recommendations, suggested measures, and practical next steps.

Improve

Improvement Engagements — Starting at $7,500

When implementation support is needed, we help turn the Diagnostic findings into practical operating changes.

That may include redesigning workflows, clarifying responsibilities, strengthening handoffs, improving follow-up, creating procedures, establishing measures, improving tool use, and training employees or managers.

Scope and pricing depend on the complexity of the work.

Sustain

Sustainment Support — $3,500 Per Approved Month

Optional Sustainment Support helps stabilize implemented changes and prepare your team to manage the improved process independently.

Support may include reviewing early results, resolving implementation issues, refining procedures or measures, coaching managers, and completing a structured handoff.

Each month is approved separately, with no automatic renewal.

A Practical Approach to Improvement

Diagnostic-Led

We investigate the problem before recommending changes, reducing the risk of investing in the wrong solution.

Evidence-Based

Recommendations are grounded in the current workflow, available operating information, employee and management input, business impact, and other relevant evidence.

Implementation-Focused

When engaged for Improvement, we help translate findings into practical workflows, responsibilities, procedures, measures, training, and management routines.

Technology-Enabled, Not Technology-Driven

Technology is useful when it supports a clearly defined business need.

Sometimes the right solution is a better workflow, clearer ownership, stronger communication, or more consistent follow-up. In other cases, existing software, automation, or appropriate AI-assisted tools may improve consistency, capacity, or visibility.

The goal is to strengthen the business without creating unnecessary dependence on consultants or technology.

Start With a Business Inquiry

Tell us about your business, the recurring operational problem you are experiencing, how it is affecting customers, employees, revenue, capacity, or management, and what you have already tried.

We will review the information to determine whether our commercial Operations Diagnostic appears to be an appropriate next step.

Submitting an inquiry does not commit you to an engagement.

When there appears to be a strong fit, we will explain the commercial Diagnostic scope, answer your questions, and discuss how the engagement would move forward.

Public-Sector Operations Support

Angulo & Morsa also supports selected public agencies, special districts, public-serving organizations, and government prime contractors through separately scoped operations-improvement and implementation engagements.

Our underlying approach remains evidence-based and implementation-focused, but public-sector work follows a different scoping, procurement, contracting, and pricing structure than our direct commercial services.

Public-sector engagements do not follow the standard commercial package structure or published pricing shown on this website. The scope, approach, deliverables, schedule, and pricing are determined by the applicable solicitation, statement of work, purchase order, task order, professional-services agreement, or subcontract.

Support may include process analysis, workflow improvement, SOP and documentation development, implementation support, performance measurement, employee training, customer or resident-service improvement, and operational sustainment.
